    Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari has announced that the Saddula Bathukamma festival will be celebrated with great grandeur on October 10 at Hyderabad’s Tank Bund. She shared this information during a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to discuss the preparations. The event is set to take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

    A grand procession will feature 10,000 women carrying Bathukammas, starting from the Amar Veerula Smarka (Martyrs Memorial) at 4 PM and heading toward Tank Bund. Hundreds of artists will also join the procession, showcasing various cultural performances. Several public representatives are expected to attend. As part of the celebration, there will be special fireworks and a laser show, which will be displayed from the Buddha statue and Sanjeevaiah Park.

    To ensure the city looks festive, Santhi Kumari instructed officials to set up Bathukammas at 150 major junctions around Hyderabad. Additionally, government buildings and public spaces will be decorated with lights. Special arrangements are being made for the immersion of Bathukammas at Necklace Road and near the children’s park at Tank Bund.

    Several key officials, including Vani Prasad, Dana Kishore, CV Anand, and Amrapali Kata, attended the meeting to finalize the preparations.

    Vibrant Bathukamma Celebrations at Secretariat

    Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari also took part in the Bathukamma celebrations held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. She joined government employees and their families in traditional dances, enhancing the festive spirit of Bathukamma. Children and women employees actively participated, decorating colorful Bathukammas with various flowers and celebrating with traditional songs and games.
