On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Congress leaders and workers from Dandepalli, in the Mancherial constituency, made a significant pledge. They vowed to completely give up alcohol as part of their personal and collective commitment. This move was led by MLA Kokkirala Prem Sagar Rao, who stressed the importance of this action.

Rao made it clear that anyone who breaks this commitment will not be considered for election tickets in local bodies. He further emphasized that these individuals would not be given any other roles or positions within the party, reinforcing the seriousness of the pledge.

The Congress leaders also extended their vow to stay away from not only alcohol but also narcotics. They explained that this decision was made to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a healthier and more responsible society. By doing so, they aim to set a positive example for their families and communities.

In addition to their stance on alcohol and narcotics, the leaders called for unity and harmony. They encouraged living in peace, free from social divisions, such as caste or religious conflicts, to create a more stable and inclusive environment for everyone.
