YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha MP, YV Subba Reddy, has filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The petition was submitted on Friday as a lunch motion, which is a request for urgent hearing. YV Subba Reddy is also a former Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

In the petition, YV Subba Reddy is asking for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into allegations of adulteration in the famous Tirumala laddu. These allegations were made by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

YV Subba Reddy’s lawyer, Sudhakar Reddy, presented the case before the Chief Justice. They are asking for an inquiry led by either a sitting judge or a High Court committee to find out the truth behind the claims. The petition is aimed at clarifying whether there is any substance to the accusations.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has scheduled the next hearing for September 25.
