Mulugu: The District Collector held a review meeting with leaders of various political parties and officials on Wednesday to discuss the preparation of the voters list for the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections. During the meeting, the Collector emphasized the importance of creating a transparent voter list to ensure the successful conduct of the elections.
The Collector explained that the State Election Commission had already published a draft of the voter list on September 13. Objections to the list will be accepted between September 13 and 21. Additionally, on September 19, political parties will have the opportunity to provide suggestions and advice at the mandal level, under the guidance of MPDOs (Mandal Parishad Development Officers).
The final voter list will be published ward-wise on September 28. The Collector instructed officials to complete both the mapping and voter merging processes promptly. He also stressed that any issues related to voter registration, setting up polling centers, and preparing the voter list should be addressed without delay.
The district consists of 1,556 wards spread across 174 gram panchayats in nine mandals. The Collector urged the officials to work diligently without any negligence to avoid complaints.
DPO Dev Raj, representatives from various political parties, and other officials attended the meeting.
