Warangal: Former chief whip D Vinay Bhaskar has criticized the Congress Government for neglecting the welfare of farmers. Speaking to party members in Hanumakonda on Wednesday, Vinay accused the Congress of betraying the farming community. He mentioned that while the Congress made many promises before the Assembly elections, they have failed to deliver after coming to power. According to Vinay, although not all farmers have benefited from the crop loan waiver, the Congress Government claims it has fulfilled its promise.
Vinay further pointed out that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy insists the government has kept its promise on the crop loan waiver. However, some ministers in his Cabinet admit that the waiver has only been partially implemented. Vinay announced that the BRS would organize a protest on Thursday, August 22, demanding that the government immediately pay the crop loans owed to farmers. He warned that the BRS would intensify their protests if the government does not take action.
Vinay also criticized the Congress Government for not yet paying the Rythu Bharosa, a support payment for farmers. Additionally, he mentioned that the Rs 500 bonus per quintal of paddy promised by the Congress has not been fulfilled. He urged farmers and opposition parties to join their protest to pressure the government into fulfilling the crop loan waiver.
