Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sudheerbabu IPS, held a meeting today to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh festival. The meeting included Rachakonda Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCsP), Additional DCsP, Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACsP), and other officials. The gathering took place at the Commissioner’s office in Neredmet.

During the meeting, CP Sudheerbabu emphasized the importance of ensuring that the Ganesh festival, one of the major festivals celebrated across the state, runs smoothly without any law and order issues. He urged officers and staff to work together to maintain peace during the festivities. The Commissioner also directed the authorities to implement safety measures to ensure that the celebrations are peaceful and incident-free. He advised inspectors to meet with organizers in advance to review the arrangements for the installation of Ganesha idols.

CP Sudheerbabu stressed the need for coordination with other government departments involved in the festival’s management and security. He directed the officials to organize coordination meetings with departments such as GHMC, Fire Department, Water Drainage Department, Medical Department, Electricity, and Transport. The focus should be on ensuring that the Ganesh Navratri celebrations are managed effectively.

The Commissioner also advised the staff to be polite and vigilant when interacting with devotees during the immersion process. He emphasized the importance of giving special attention to Dial 100 calls, monitoring CCTVs, and enforcing visible policing. Additionally, he reminded the officials of the Supreme Court’s order that loudspeakers should be used only until 10 PM and that DJs are not allowed in mandapams.

Furthermore, CP Sudheerbabu instructed the officials to ensure that at least two volunteers are present in each Ganesh mandapam throughout the day to avoid any mishaps, such as short circuits. He also requested that flex banners displaying the details and contact numbers of mandap organizers and committee members be set up at each mandap. The Commissioner stressed the importance of collecting the details of the Ganesh Mandapam management committees and coordinating with relevant departments to prevent electrical accidents and interruptions in power supply.

CP Sudheerbabu suggested that point books be arranged at every Ganesh mandapam, where police officials can record their inspections. He also advised taking preventive measures to avoid clashes near Vinayaka Mandapams, increasing security in problematic areas, and arranging special pickets where necessary. The Commissioner requested people to celebrate the festival peacefully and warned against believing or spreading false rumors on social media, as legal action would be taken against those who do.

The Commissioner also advised preparing an advance plan for the immersion process, coordinating with concerned departments to ensure the provision of police personnel, swimmers, cranes, lighting, and CCTV cameras. The goal is to ensure a smooth and disturbance-free Ganesh Shobhayatra. Additionally, CP Sudheerbabu stressed monitoring traffic to avoid congestion during the festivities.

CP Sudheerbabu further instructed that street lights, floodlights, and necessary cranes should be arranged in advance at ponds and other water bodies used for immersion, in coordination with GHMC officials. He recommended setting up tents, electric lights, barricades, water facilities, mobile toilets, and medical facilities at these locations for the convenience of devotees.

Finally, the Commissioner called for ensuring 24-hour uninterrupted power supply, road repairs, and sanitization works. He urged devotees to celebrate the Ganesh festival in a peaceful and dignified manner.

The meeting was attended by several officers, including DCP Malkajgiri Padmaja IPS, DCP LB Nagar Praveen Kumar IPS, DCP Yadadri Rajesh Chandra IPS, DCP SB Karunakar, DCP Crime Arvind Babu, DCP Maheshwaram Sunitha Reddy, ACP IT Cell Narender Goud, ACP SB Sreedhar Reddy, and other officials.
