Nalgonda: Agriculture and Cooperation Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao announced that starting today, crop loan waivers for amounts over Rs two lakh will be credited to farmers’ accounts across the state.

The announcement was made during an Agri Show at NG College, organized by Rythu Badi. Minister Rao was joined by Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy and State Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at the event.

In his speech, Minister Rao addressed criticisms from the Opposition regarding the loan waiver scheme. He emphasized that the state government is fully committed to waiving loans for farmers with debts below two lakhs, as promised by Rahul Gandhi. He assured that despite the criticism, the government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, is dedicated to helping eligible farmers. For those with loans exceeding Rs two lakh, the additional waiver amount will be credited to their accounts starting today.

The minister also explained that the loan waivers will be executed in three phases. From today onwards, agricultural officers will be stationed at every bank and farmers’ platforms to assist with the process.

Farmers were encouraged to correct any discrepancies in their Aadhaar, bank accounts, or ration cards to ensure their loans are waived smoothly.

Additionally, Minister Rao urged both public representatives and farmers to increase palm oil cultivation across the district. He highlighted that the State government is providing subsidies to support large-scale palm oil cultivation.

Ministers reassured farmers that there is no need to worry about the loan waiver process. Several officials, including MP Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy, DCCB Chairman Kumbham Srinivas Reddy, and other local leaders, participated in the program.
