Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender criticized the State government’s claim of completing the farm loan waiver, calling it “complete nonsense and bogus.”

On Friday, Eatala Rajender suggested that the State government should admit its failure to fulfill the election promise. He mentioned that according to the calculations by bankers, a full farm loan waiver would cost around Rs 72,000 crore.

However, he pointed out that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had promised a farm loan waiver of Rs 63,000 crore before the elections. This amount was later reduced to Rs 34,000 crore due to procedural reasons. Now, the Congress government claims it has waived Rs 17,000 crore in loans for 22 lakh farmers. Rajender countered this claim by citing the example of Ghatkesar Society, where not a single rupee was waived for loans worth Rs 9 crore owed by 1,200 farmers.

In response to demolitions carried out by HYDRA, Eatala Rajender criticized the ongoing actions, calling them a “high voltage drama” that should be stopped.

He urged the government not to demolish structures on lands marked under Full Tank Level (FTL). Instead, he suggested that the government should take steps to prevent water from entering these areas. If the government is sincere, it should have stopped the construction of such structures in the first place, he added.
