Hyderabad:
The Hyderabad city police held a meeting with representatives of Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) from 11 Police Stations in the North Zone. The purpose was to understand the concerns of residents and provide security instructions.
The meeting was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S Rashmi Perumal. All Station House Officers (SHOs) of the North Zone and about 100 RWA representatives attended.
Residents shared concerns about various issues. These included non-working street lights, lack of CCTV cameras, minors riding vehicles, unauthorized parking blocking roads, rash driving, street dog problems, garbage dumping near colonies, suspicious movements, and road encroachments by street vendors.
The police assured the representatives that they would take necessary legal actions to address these concerns.
Safety instructions were also discussed. These included the installation of CCTV cameras in colonies and measures to prevent house thefts.
The RWAs were asked to cooperate and to ensure the safety of senior citizens, especially those living alone with hired help.
Topics like fire safety, electrical equipment audits, fire drills, CCTV coverage, neighborhood awareness, and emergency response were also covered.
It was decided to create a group with nodal officers from each RWA. This group will help in quickly sharing important information and addressing any issues promptly.
