Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticized AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s comments in the State Assembly. He said these comments show arrogance and it is shameful for the AIMIM leader to demoralize the entire police force for the mistake allegedly committed by one official.
Sanjay Kumar stressed that the police should take legal action against AIMIM gangsters for breaking laws and traffic rules in the Old City. He mentioned that Akbaruddin Owaisi wants the police to stay out of the Old City after 10 PM. Sanjay questioned if the Old City is Akbaruddin’s personal territory or if he thinks the rule of Nizam’s Razakars should continue.
He criticized the Congress government for remaining silent in the face of Akbaruddin’s threats that no police should enter the Old City after 10 PM. Sanjay Kumar said this silence shows the government’s incompetence.
The Karimnagar MP demanded that the State government release a white paper on the power losses in the Old City.
He noted that previously, the AIMIM claimed control over the TRS party, but the then Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao did not care. Now, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government is also surrendering to the Majlis, Sanjay Kumar added.
Sanjay Kumar highlighted that the BJP held a massive public meeting in front of the Bhagyalakshmi Ammavari temple in the Old City, where they chanted slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.” He stated, “We will show Akbaruddin who claims the Old City as his stronghold.”
He condemned Akbaruddin’s comments suggesting that the Assembly should pass a resolution against the new laws of Bharatiya Nyaya Samhitas.
The Union Minister pointed out that Akbaruddin had publicly remarked that he would harm Hindus in 15 minutes but escaped punishment due to loopholes in old laws. Sanjay Kumar said that Akbaruddin wants a resolution against the new laws because they prevent such escapes from punishment.
