Hyderabad:
Dontireddy Gangadhara Reddy, a social entrepreneur and founder of BlueDrop Enviro, recently received an honorary doctorate from Chicago Open University. The award ceremony took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
Reddy, who holds a green card from the USA, had a successful career in the IT industry, founding two software companies. However, he chose to return to India to focus on sustainable development and creating a greener future. He shifted his attention to solving the issue of polluted water using green technologies.
Reddy founded BlueDrop Enviro, a company committed to providing eco-friendly solutions for environmental problems. Under his leadership, the company has promoted sustainability and environmental conservation in India. For the past seven years, BlueDrop Enviro has been setting up Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and working on the remediation of polluted lakes.
Reddy encourages everyone to adopt lifestyles that reduce pollution. He also urged private and government organizations to use nature-based solutions to counteract pollution. He emphasized that educational institutions should implement these solutions to raise environmental awareness among students, preparing them to protect the environment in the future.
