Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has accused the Congress State government of treating Hindu temples in the Old City unfairly.

After visiting the Simhavahini Ammavarai temple in Lal Darwaja and presenting a golden Boanam during the Bonalu festival on Sunday, Bandi Sanjay spoke to the media. He pointed out that only Rs 5 lakh was given for the maintenance of 24 temples in the Old City, while Rs 33 crore was allocated for the Ramzan festival. He questioned if the State government thinks Hindus are beggars and demanded Rs 10 crore for the Lal Darwaja temple. He also suggested the state government should expand the temple by using the nearby Farid Market due to the large number of devotees.

The Karimnagar MP also mentioned that slaughterhouses are being taken over in the Old City and lands are being grabbed. He demanded action against those responsible and warned that if the BJP comes to power, they will take strict measures. He assured that the Old City would be developed in a manner similar to Kashi and Ayodhya.

Bandi Sanjay reminded the public that previous leaders had promised Rs 10 crore for the Lal Darwaja temple but did not fulfill their promise. He urged these leaders to consider the consequences of making and breaking promises.
