    Children Protest Against Stray Dog Menace in Quthbullapur

    In Hyderabad, children from various residential colonies in Quthbullapur gathered in front of the Pet Basheerabad police station. They were there to demand protection from stray dog attacks. The children lodged a complaint against the Kompally municipal authorities.

    The number of stray dogs in their area is increasing, leading to more frequent dog bite cases. Holding placards that read “Save our lives,” the children appealed to the Kompally municipal commissioner and chairman to take action to protect them.

    One girl shared her experience, explaining that a dog bit her on her way to school. She now has to visit the hospital regularly for injections. She mentioned that many dogs are roaming in their locality, and children often become victims.

    The children informed the police that despite numerous complaints, no action had been taken to address the stray dog problem. They demanded strict action against the responsible authorities.

    Holding their placards, the children also requested Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and local MLA Vivek to protect them from these attacks.

    Following a recent dog bite case, Revanth Reddy directed officials to take necessary steps to prevent such incidents. He instructed officials to set up a toll-free number for citizens to report such incidents.

    The Chief Minister suggested forming a committee with representatives including veterinary doctors and Blue Cross members. He also ordered all hospitals to provide immediate treatment for dog bite victims.

    Additionally, he instructed officials to conduct vaccination drives to control the stray dog population. Health department officials were asked to ensure that medicines for treating dog bites are available in all urban health centers and primary healthcare centers across the state.
