**Jagan Consoles Family of Murdered YSRCP Worker Rashid**
**PALANADU:** YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, visited the grieving family of Rashid, who was recently murdered under suspicious circumstances.
Rashid’s parents and relatives were emotional upon seeing Jagan. He comforted them and asked about the incident. Rashid’s mother explained that the murder was politically motivated and not due to old grudges.
Rashid’s parents said, “Rashid was dedicated to the YSRCP. He was killed out of political vendetta, and now we are being threatened. The main accused, Jilani, has connections with the TDP. Despite naming the weapon supplier, the police have ignored it. Jilani’s call data will reveal the truth behind the murder. We demand that those who killed our son be hanged publicly.”
The family showed Jagan photos of Jilani with TDP leaders. Jagan assured them, “We will not spare anyone behind this murder. We stand with your family.” He criticized the coalition government for its failures and the police for supporting the accused. Jagan promised unwavering support to Rashid’s family.
During his visit, Jagan paid tribute to Rashid’s portrait and was accompanied by key leaders. Despite police restrictions and multiple attempts to halt his convoy, Jagan’s visit continued, albeit delayed. Supporters thronged the route, chanting “Jai Jagan,” and Jagan greeted them despite the somber occasion.
Jagan also criticized the previous government led by Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting his security. The government reduced his security and provided an old bulletproof vehicle, which malfunctioned multiple times en route to Vinukonda. Jagan had to switch vehicles mid-journey, highlighting the negligence of the Naidu administration, which claimed the vehicle was in good condition.
