NDRF and state rescue teams are helping people affected by flooding in Aswaraopet Peddavagu in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Around 20 people are still trapped and being moved to safety.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a teleconference with officials to discuss the situation. Reports indicated that farmers in downstream villages were stuck in floodwaters. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of saving lives. District Collector Jitesh reported that 28 people were rescued with helicopters and efforts to relocate 20 more were ongoing.
Efforts to move residents of Gummadavelli, Koyagudem, Kothur, and Gajulapalli villages to resettlement camps are continuing. The priority is ensuring people’s safety and providing necessary assistance from Hyderabad. Authorities are working to prevent further flooding in surrounding areas and the police force is involved in relief efforts. The Irrigation department is monitoring the situation and officials are on the ground to assess the damage and provide support.
