The state government is expected to present the annual budget on July 25 with a total amount of Rs 2.90 lakh crore. Earlier this year, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented a vote-on-account of Rs 2.75 lakh crore on February 10. He expressed his dissatisfaction with presenting a vote-on-account as the first budget of the Congress government. The revenue expenditure and capital expenditure in the previous vote-on-account were Rs 2,01,178 crore and Rs 29,669 crore, respectively.

The budget session of the Assembly will begin on July 23. It is worth noting that this date coincides with the day Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first full budget of the third term of the NDA government in Parliament. The total number of working days for the budget session will be decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC).

The Governor will address a joint sitting of the Legislature on the first day of the session, followed by the presentation of the full budget on July 25. Important topics likely to be discussed during the session include extending Rythu Bharosa, state emblem, farm loan waiver scheme implementation, performance of the eight-month Congress government, corruption in Kaleshwaram, power purchase agreements, and potential discussions on pending issues under the AP State Re-Organisation Act 2014.
