    The Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) in Hyderabad inaugurated a new training program on Tuesday focusing on forensic accounting, corporate finance, and accounting. This is the first of its kind program at the Railway Training Institute, with plans to cover all IRAS officers from Indian railways over time. The course will be conducted in a hybrid mode.

    Roopa Srinivasan, member finance of the railway board, highlighted the importance of this training program in today’s rapidly changing world. She emphasized the need for understanding forensic accounting, digital and cyber forensics, and newer applications like IPAS and traffic accounts. Roopa commended IRIFM for quickly designing this course and wished all participants a fruitful training experience.

    Aparna Garg, director general of IRIFM, mentioned that the course was developed in consultation with domain experts from NFSU, Ahmadabad, and NFSL, Hyderabad. It aims to provide a deeper understanding of financial statements of corporate organizations and the ability to interpret them. The program includes distinguished Chartered Accountants, experienced officers from CRIS and C and AG offices, as well as retired and serving railway officers.
