The Telangana High Court’s single bench of Justice Kunuru Lakshman heard a writ filed by Dasyam Vinay Bhasker, Hanamkonda district BRS president. The writ seeks a direction to the RDO, Hanamkonda, Commissioner, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, and the Deputy Commissioner, Kazipet, Circle-II. The direction is to prevent any coercive action against the party office constructed temporarily on one acre in survey no. 1066 of Hanamkonda village and mandal.

The petitioner is upset about a notice dated June 21 from the RDO demanding the building permission for the temporary office within three days. Failure to comply would result in punitive action. The petitioner believes the notice was influenced by Naini Rajender Reddy, Congress MLA Warangal (West), with the intention of canceling the land allotment to the party in Hanamkonda. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the notice was a result of political pressure from the Congress leader. The judge adjourned the hearing to July 18.

In another case, the HC single bench of Justice B Vijaysen Reddy stated that any appointment of law officers in subordinate courts in Telangana by the government will be subject to final court orders. The judge adjourned three writs to July 22 for further hearings. These writs challenged a government order discontinuing the services of law officers working in lower courts across the state.

Vedula Venkataramana, senior counsel, argued that the government’s decision to discontinue law officers was arbitrary and illegal. The government cited “lack of confidence” as the reason for termination, which was not acceptable to the counsel. Venkataramana pointed out that the law officers were selected under the supervision of a district judge and were suitable in all aspects. The hearing was adjourned to July 22 for more discussions on the matter.
