Gadwal: The District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. Sasikala, is warning residents to be cautious during heavy rains in the area. Common seasonal illnesses like cough, cold, sore throat, fever, stomach ache, vomiting, diarrhea, respiratory problems, and indigestion are likely. More serious diseases such as influenza, malaria, dengue fever, typhoid, and hepatitis-A are also common during the rainy season. These illnesses can affect people of all ages but are especially dangerous for young children and the elderly.

To stay healthy, Dr. Sasikala recommends taking these precautions:
    – Cover food items
    – Boil water before drinking
    – Maintain good hygiene
    – Wash hands with soap before eating and after using the toilet
