The District Collector in Gadwal, B. M Santhosh, stressed the importance of planting trees to protect the environment during the Vana Mahotsava program organized by the District Rural Development Department. Additional collectors and district officials also planted saplings to encourage community participation.
The target for Jogulamba Gadwal district is to plant 15 lakh saplings, with 2.8 lakh already distributed to villages. Large-scale planting has begun with the help of MPDOs and women’s groups at village mandal levels, achieving 35% of the target so far.
The Collector emphasized the need to protect the newly planted saplings during the rainy months of July and August to meet departmental goals. He urged all government departments to fulfill their planting targets and encouraged responsible participation from everyone.
Additional Collectors Musini Venkateshwarlu, Narsinga Rao, ZP CEO Kanthamma, and district officers and staff from various departments also took part in the program. They emphasized the importance of protecting the planted saplings to reach the targets set for the departments during the upcoming rainy months. All government departments were urged to complete their assigned planting goals responsibly.
