Senior IPS officer Jitender is going to be the new Director General of Police (DGP) in Telangana. The decision was made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and will be officially announced today.
Jitender’s appointment orders were supposed to be issued on Tuesday but were delayed due to CM Revanth Reddy’s visit to Mahbubnagar district. If the orders are issued today, Jitender will be the first DGP appointed by the government since the Congress party took power in the state.
Currently, Jitender serves as the Principal Secretary of the Home Department and holds the position of DGP. He also has additional responsibilities as the Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement. Ravi Gupta, the current DGP of Telangana, will be replaced by Jitender after the official announcement is made.
The appointment of Jitender as the new DGP is a significant development for law enforcement leadership in the state. It is expected to bring positive changes to the police administration.
