Another incident of unhygienic food surfaced at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) Sultanpur campus. A video showing a live rat found in the chutney served at the college mess went viral on social media.

Praisy J, a student at JNTUH, expressed shock and concern over the incident, stating that it poses a serious health risk. Students staged a protest at the university premises, urging authorities to take immediate action to address safety violations, especially regarding food hygiene.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at JNTUH. Previously, students reported finding insects in their food, leading to a raid by officials from the Food Safety department in June that uncovered multiple violations.

In response to the recent incident, Venkateshwara Rao, Registrar of JNTUH, clarified that the rat was accidentally found in leftover chutney after breakfast hours. He dismissed claims of negligence and misinformation spread on social media.
