    The CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana welcomed the first meeting of the CMs of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He emphasized the need for the two CMs to work towards the welfare of Telugu people and avoid conflicts between the two states.

    Narayana praised the intention of the CMs to discuss and resolve pending issues between the states. He highlighted that the division of Telugu-speaking people into separate states should not lead to disputes among them.

    The CPI leader mentioned that political sentiments, such as anti-Andhra feelings, were utilized during the separation of the states, but emphasized that these sentiments do not need to last forever. He urged the CMs to focus on addressing the fair demands of each state and implementing guarantees outlined in the AP Re-organisation Act.

    Narayana also called for a peaceful resolution of issues related to merged villages and the construction of the Polavaram project. He suggested that both CMs should adopt a similar approach to resolving water distribution problems, as was done in united Andhra Pradesh.

    In conclusion, the CPI leader encouraged the CMs to prioritize the welfare of people over political sentiments and hoped that their meeting would be beneficial in resolving issues between the two states.
