The stage is set for a crucial meeting between the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Both N Chandrababu Naidu and A Revanth Reddy have expressed their willingness to discuss pending issues with an open mind and adopt a give-and-take policy. They believe that the face-to-face meeting will help find solutions to most of the issues between the two states.

Representatives from Andhra Pradesh, including Naidu and three ministers, will participate in the meeting. Telangana will be represented by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and other officials. The main issue to be discussed is the de-merger of five villages of Bhadrachalam, which were transferred to AP after the state’s bifurcation.

The AP government may raise concerns about power dues, asset division, and institutions under Schedule 9 and Schedule 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014. The states have agreed on distributing assets of 68 organizations but are yet to reach a consensus on 23 institutions. Disputes also exist over the division of 30 institutions, including the Telugu Academy and Ambedkar University.

Other topics for discussion include Krishna water sharing, the Polavaram project, and the merger of five villages in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. The Andhra Pradesh government may also bring up issues like the AP State Financial Corporation, apportionment of debt for projects, employee exchange, and division of Labour cess.
