Hyderabad: The government is planning to boost tourism in Telangana by introducing a new tourism policy, according to Tourism and Culture Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao. The aim is to make Telangana a popular tourist destination and create job opportunities for economic development.

As part of the new policy, destinations like Somasila for destination weddings and adventure tourism in the backwaters of the Krishna River, Ramappa, Laknavaram, Nagarjunasagar, and Ananthagiri Hills will be promoted. Plans are also underway to establish a wellness tourism resort in Ananthagiri that combines culture and traditions for marriage ceremonies.

The government is committed to developing neglected tourist spots like Taramati Baradari and Haritha Hotels within six months. The Minister criticized the previous government for not having a tourism policy and failing to secure funds from the Centre. The new tourism policy will be announced soon after approval from the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
