The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Professor BJ Rao, addressed accusations of targeting marginalized students due to political pressure. The university decided to lift suspension orders for the students and instead impose a monetary penalty to support their academic future. Professor BJ Rao emphasized that the allegations of political bias are baseless and do not reflect the values of the university.

The fines collected from the students will be deposited into the Gurubaksh Singh Students’ Aid Fund, which assists marginalized and economically disadvantaged students. This decision aims to ensure that all students have access to resources and support to succeed in their academic pursuits.
