Top BC senior leaders in Telangana are pushing for their candidature for the position of PCC chief as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s term is ending on July 7. The party high command is fast-tracking the process of nominating a new chief after the CM requested to be relieved of the responsibility. Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and AICC (State in-charge) Deepa Dasmunshi, along with many aspirants, have visited New Delhi for discussions. Former MP Madhu Yashki Goud and MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud met Sonia Gandhi to lobby for the top party post in Telangana, representing the Backward Caste within the party.
Meanwhile, former Alampur MLA S A Sampath Kumar, who is also in the running for the position, is in Delhi and has met with Revanth Reddy. The CM has formally asked the High Command to appoint a new president before his term ends, which began three years ago on June 27. He stated that he made this request to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal. Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy met with Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday to suggest potential candidates for the TPCC president’s post.
