Farmers in Aswapuram Mandal have provided about 1200 acres of land for the construction of the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project. If even one acre of farmland is lost in this mandal, it will not be possible to do so without providing water for irrigation.
Efforts are being made urgently in our mandal to ensure that we receive water. It is not just Aswapuram Mandal that needs irrigation water from the Sitarama project, but also the entire Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

It would not be fair to divert our water to Khammam district without meeting our needs first. Farmers and residents are urging the government to consider this and make a decision promptly. Former Sarpanch Marri Mallareddy expressed these sentiments.
