Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the State government for not requesting a CBI inquiry into corruption at Singareni. He believes a CBI investigation would reveal who is responsible for the issues at Singareni, including former government officials. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that there are no plans to privatize Singareni, but parties like Congress and BRS are spreading misinformation.

During a media briefing in Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay Kumar explained that the Centre holds 49 percent ownership of Singareni, while the State owns 51 percent. He emphasized that the Central government cannot privatize Singareni without the State government’s approval.
