    District Collector Jitesh V Patil encourages Sanna Karu farmers to adopt profitable cultivation methods.

    The district collector of Bhadradri Kothagudem held a meeting with agricultural extension officers to discuss increasing income for farmers. They were encouraged to explore new farming methods to support marginal farmers in the district.

    In Kamareddy district, it was shown that growing sweet potatoes can be more profitable than rice cultivation. Each extension officer was tasked with promoting this method to at least one farmer. Additionally, under the employment guarantee scheme, mangrove cultivation and well digging were recommended.

    To boost farmers’ income, suggestions included intercropping oil farms with bananas and planting teak trees around bamboo trees for protection. Other ideas included growing azolla moss in ponds and raising Corrami babies for profit.

    The district collector emphasized the importance of doubling farmers’ income through bee cultivation. Various agricultural officers and officials attended the meeting to discuss these strategies.
