The District Collector visited the District Government Area Hospital for a surprise inspection. They checked every ward to assess the conditions and quality of medical services. The hospital register was also reviewed to check the punctuality of doctors. It was discovered that 14 staff members were absent without leave, leading to the Collector’s displeasure. The in-charge superintendent was instructed to print out biometric attendance records daily and issue show cause notices to the absent staff.
During the inspection, the pharmacy store was visited, and the pharmacist was suspended for improper maintenance of stock details and registers. The Collector also ordered an inspection of the eye medical treatment lab and directed the operation theater to be operational by July 1 for better eye treatment services. The 50-bed men’s ward was to be reorganized and put into use.
Records of in-patients and out-patients were checked to ensure improved medical services for hospitalized patients. The District Collector urged medical officers to provide better care for patients. Dr. Naveen Kranti, the in-charge superintendent, and other staff members were present during the inspection.
