    Heavy rain and strong winds hit Hyderabad on Monday, causing flooding on streets and disrupting traffic. Many areas, especially low-lying ones, were submerged in water, leading to difficulties for pedestrians and drivers.

    The most affected areas included Uppal, Secunderabad, Paradise, Khairatabad, Rajendranagar, Lingampally, HITEC City, Gachibowli, and Kondapur. Traffic police were deployed to manage traffic and commuters were advised to find alternative routes.

    Power outages were reported in Mettuguda, Jeedimetla, Gudimalkapur, Kushaiguda, Petbasheerabad, and Chanda Nagar due to the heavy rain. Several old trees were uprooted in different parts of the city, causing further disruptions.

    Golkonda received the highest rainfall at 58 mm, followed by Asif Nagar with 57 mm, Khairatabad with 52.5 mm, and Shaikpet with 46.8 mm. Other areas received up to 30 mm of rain, with hailstorms reported in Kukatpally, Miyapur, and Serilingampally.

    The India Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in Hyderabad and surrounding districts. The Disaster Response Force and GHMC teams worked to clear waterlogged roads and assist residents in affected areas. Residents were urged to contact the GHMC helpline for assistance during rainfall.
