Hyderabad: Sirpur Kagaznagar MLA Palwai Harish Babu expressed concern about the worsening law and order situation in the state. He criticized the lack of a full-time home minister, which he believes contributes to the problem.
During a press conference, Harish Babu mentioned a recent tragic incident in Sultanabad, Peddapalli district, where a six-year-old girl was raped and murdered. The accused, reportedly from Bihar, committed the crime while under the influence of drugs.
The victim’s family had recently moved to the area in search of work, highlighting the challenges faced by migrant families. Harish Babu emphasized how easily accessible narcotics are in rural areas like Pedapalli and highlighted the lack of proper record-keeping for laborers.
Despite promises by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take action under the POCSO Act, Harish Babu noted that the family has not received a visit from the CM. He attributed this to the absence of a dedicated home minister and ongoing internal conflicts within the Congress party.
Harish Babu called on the state government to provide financial compensation, housing, and a government job to the victim’s family. He urged for swift action to address the issues plaguing law enforcement and administration in the state.
