The Congress accused BRS leaders of stirring up trouble between the two Telugu States by bringing up the issue of seven mandals in Khammam district that were merged with Andhra Pradesh during bifurcation. The party called this hypocritical, pointing out that BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao willingly let go of the area in the past.
Congress leader Devani Satish Madiga highlighted how KCR gave up the seven mandals when the AP Reorganisation Bill was being discussed in Parliament. He questioned why KCR would now try to claim these areas back, when he himself had previously deemed them insignificant compared to the larger Telangana region.
Satish refuted claims made by former MLA Balka Suman, who said that BRS (then TRS) MPs had fought for the land. Satish challenged Suman to prove if any concrete steps were taken by the previous government to try and reclaim the mandals. He accused BRS of trying to regain political relevance by sowing seeds of discord between the people of both States.
The Congress leader dared Balka Suman to participate in an open debate at the Martyrs Memorial to discuss the issue further, emphasizing that BRS was no longer a significant political force in the State.
