Union Minister G Kishan Reddy recently took charge as the Minister of Coal and Mining. He expressed gratitude for being entrusted with these responsibilities by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reddy acknowledged the efficient leadership of former ministers Prahlad Joshi and Piyush Goyal in these ministries.
Reddy emphasized the importance of the electricity sector in people’s lives, citing the struggles faced by industries and agriculture due to power shortages a decade ago. He highlighted the successful resolution of electricity shortage issues in States over the past ten years under Modi’s government, attributing it to increased coal output and supply to the power sector.
The Minister also addressed the need for boosting domestic coal production to reduce reliance on imports. He outlined plans to enhance job opportunities in the mining sector and increase mineral exports to stimulate economic growth.
