A 23-year-old Indian student named Nitheesha Kandula, who attends California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), went missing in Los Angeles last week. The Chief of Police at CSUSB, John Guttierez, announced that Nitheesha has been found safe after being reported missing on May 28, 2024.
The police had asked for help from the public to locate Nitheesha, who is from Hyderabad. She is 5’6″ tall, weighs around 160 pounds, with black hair and black eyes. The Indian community in the US has seen similar incidents recently, with a missing student named Rupesh Chandra Chintakind in Chicago last month.
In April, a 25-year-old Indian student from Hyderabad named Mohammad Abdul Arfath was found dead in Cleveland after going missing in March. He had been studying for a Master’s in IT at Cleveland University since May of the previous year.
