The Southwest monsoon has arrived in Telangana, bringing clouds and heavy rainfall to districts like Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, and Nalgonda. The Meteorological Department has forecasted three days of heavy rain starting on June 4.
Normally, the monsoon reaches Telangana in the second week of June, but this year it came a week early. The monsoon first hit the Kerala coast on May 30, then reached Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh before moving into Telangana.
The Meteorological Department is predicting above-average rainfall this season, with a low pressure area causing moderate to heavy rain in various parts of Telangana. There are expected to be showers throughout the State starting Tuesday.
Districts like Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy are set to receive heavy rainfall. A yellow alert has been issued for these areas. Some areas in the State already experienced rain on Sunday, which helped cool down temperatures.
