    Telangana officially became a separate state on June 2, 2014, after strong protests from people in the region. The day is now celebrated with joy and cultural activities to honor the achievement and spirit of the Telangana movement. It also pays tribute to those who sacrificed for the cause.

    Telangana Formation Day is celebrated on June 2, 2024, marking the historic moment when the state emerged. Previously, Telangana was part of Hyderabad before being merged with Andhra Pradesh in 1956. Protests in 1969 highlighted the region’s neglect, leading to a movement for a separate state.

    The formation of Telangana was a result of years of struggle and political efforts, culminating in the passing of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in 2014. Since then, the state has made significant progress in various sectors, becoming one of India’s fastest-growing states.

    The growth in IT, pharmaceuticals, real estate, agriculture, and infrastructure has boosted the economy and improved living standards. Celebrations are planned for the 10th anniversary of Telangana’s formation, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy leading tributes and events across the state on June 2.
