    In Bhadradri Kothagudem District, the District SP Rohit Raju IPS has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone caught transporting ganja. Special vigilance has been set up to prevent the smuggling of ganja, and those involved will face legal consequences.

    Recently, on 25.05.2024, individuals were caught transporting ganja within the limits of three police stations in the district. A significant amount of ganja was seized during these operations.

    One incident involved Bhadrachalam SS Vijayalakshmi and his team intercepting two vehicles carrying 427 kilos of ganja on Koonavaram Road. Seven individuals from Andhra Pradesh were arrested for attempting to transport the illegal substance to Hyderabad.

    In another case, SCI Srinivas and his team discovered 359 kilos of ganja hidden in a bolero van on Jangareddygudem Road. The individuals responsible for transporting the ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad were apprehended.

    Overall, a total of 1035 kgs of prohibited ganja worth approximately Rs.2,58,48,500 were seized in these incidents. The vehicles used for transportation were also confiscated and the perpetrators have been arrested and sent to jail.
