In Gadwal, the District Special Officer and Intermediate Education Commissioner Shruti Ojha instructed officials to speed up the collection process of remaining grains at purchase centers. She visited rice grain buying centers in Beerelli and Latti puram villages with District Collector B M Santosh. They checked the facilities at paddy buying centers run by IKP and addressed any issues faced by farmers, emphasizing the immediate weighing of grains brought in by farmers.

Farmers were told to weigh and load the collected grain into trucks promptly for transport to rice mills. Data entry must be done regularly, and timely payment to farmers ensured to avoid delays due to untimely rains. Measures should be taken in advance to have enough tarpaulins and gunny bags at purchase centers to prevent grains from getting wet. The government’s announced full support price will be paid, and care must be taken to protect the grain from rain.
