Farmers at the agricultural market in Pebbair Mandal Centre, Wanaparthy, were relieved on Saturday as they finally received purchase orders for their paddy. This came after The Hans India published a report on May 18 about the farmers’ struggles and their plans to protest at government offices.
Market District Officer Swaranjit Singh visited the farmers to address their concerns. He provided tarpaulins to help them during a tough time when unexpected rain had wet the paddy that was spread out to dry in the agricultural market, putting the farmers in a difficult situation.
Singh also arranged for the purchase of the paddy through the PACS market. However, the purchase could not take place as the farmers had not yet received the purchase order copy. Upon learning about this issue, Singh made sure that the PACS received the purchase order copy, leading to the farmers expressing their happiness.
