Tension arose near Suchitra in Hyderabad due to a land dispute involving former Minister Ch Malla Reddy. The dispute is over a 2-acre land parcel claimed by BRS leaders, including Malla Reddy and his son-in-law Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. They went to the site with their followers after learning that others had put up fencing to encroach on their land, allegedly with the support of the ruling Congress.

Malla Reddy and Marri Rajsekhar Reddy were upset about the fencing put up overnight by the other party. They tried to remove it, leading to a police intervention to prevent the situation from escalating.
