The state government in Hyderabad is preparing to officially end the clause that made Hyderabad the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for 10 years. This decision will be made after seeking approval from the Cabinet on May 18.
During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat, the Cabinet discussed important issues such as the farmers loan waiver scheme and paddy procurement. The government aims to make firm decisions on these matters.
Officials have been directed to prepare a report on pending issues related to asset division and debt settlement between the two states after bifurcation. There are still unresolved issues regarding the division and distribution of assets of organizations and corporations, as well as payment of power dues.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to resolve employee transfer and repatriation with the AP government amicably. He also requested a report on issues that have been resolved through consensus between the two states.
Revanth inquired about the progress of paddy procurement and urged officials to ensure a smooth process without causing trouble to farmers, especially following recent unseasonal rains. Measures are being taken to prevent farmers from suffering further damage.
