In Hyderabad, BRS leaders are concerned about potential cross-voting in various Lok Sabha areas. They have noticed that minority voters did not support their party in some regions after analyzing the election process in districts. Different reasons have been identified that could affect the outcomes.

A senior leader mentioned reports of cross-voting in areas where the Congress and BJP have strong support. In constituencies like Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Chevella, and Malkajgiri, traditional party supporters shifted to other parties according to information from local members. The party believes that Medak and Secunderabad offer the best chances for success, with a possibility in Mahabubabad LS segment as well.

Concerns were raised about the minority votes not aligning with the BRS in certain districts. A BRS leader noted that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s call to vote for the Congress may have influenced minority voting patterns. In Secunderabad LS segment, where there are over a lakh minority votes, a message from Owaisi could have helped the BRS secure victory. However, Owaisi’s endorsement of another candidate has made the race close.

The BRS had hoped to secure support from the minority vote bank after party chief K Chandrashekar Rao emphasized the party’s secular values and warned that voting for Congress could benefit BJP. Party leaders are now uncertain about where the community placed their votes, suspecting that minority votes were transferred to Congress in areas like Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao stated that the party had faced off against BJP in some areas and Congress in others. Despite efforts by both national parties to hinder their progress, BRS is optimistic about winning more seats throughout the State. Rao asserted that regional parties would play a crucial role in national politics and accused national parties of colluding at the state level while competing in Delhi. He also claimed that Congress fielded “dummy candidates” in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Secunderabad, and Malkajgiri but credited KCR’s bus yatra for changing the political landscape in Telangana.
