Andhra Pradesh High Court has put a hold on Election Commission’s orders to stop fund transfers until tomorrow. The court told the government not to give out any funds from May 11 to May 13, 2024. They also said that there should be no publicity about releasing funds for welfare schemes during this time, and no political involvement or ceremonies.
The High Court’s order is to pause the Election Commission’s decisions on welfare schemes until May 10, 2024. The government is required to not release any funds from May 11 to May 13, 2024. The court also directed the government to follow all instructions from the Election Commission to ensure no deviation from the Model Code of Conduct.
The court has asked for detailed responses from the respondents and adjourned the matter until June 27.
