The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Warangal is facing internal strife after announcing Enugula Rakesh Reddy as its candidate for an upcoming election. This decision has caused unrest among senior leaders in the district, with some feeling that Rakesh, who joined the party just six months ago, is not the right choice.
Many leaders believe that Rakesh’s selection over long-standing party members could demoralize those who have been loyal to the party for years. Jangaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who supported Rakesh’s candidacy, is now under scrutiny for his role in the decision-making process.
Former chief whip D Vinay Bhaskar and MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy are among those who were not consulted before Rakesh was chosen as the candidate. Vinay Bhaskar even met with the party’s working president K T Rama Rao to express opposition to Rakesh’s selection among party members.
Other potential candidates for the election include Sunder Raj Yadav, K Vasudeva Reddy, and Palle Ravi Kumar, all of whom were overlooked in favor of Rakesh. The discontent within the BRS leadership could have repercussions in the upcoming election.
