Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister, Finance and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka accused the Opposition BRS of spreading false information about power supply in the State for political reasons. He stated that the government is ensuring uninterrupted power supply even during peak demand.

Before the Assembly elections, BRS leaders claimed that there would be no power cuts if Congress came to power. However, Vikramarka noted that the BRS was spreading misinformation on social media about power outages in Suryapet and Mahbubnagar.

Vikramarka clarified that whenever there is a power interruption due to technical issues, the staff quickly restore the supply. He warned that officials who neglect their duties will face departmental action, expressing disappointment that BRS leaders continue to politicize such issues.

From December 2022 to April 2023, a total of 36,207 million units of electricity was supplied. Comparatively, during the Congress rule from December 2023 to April 30, 2024, 38,155 million units were supplied. The minister highlighted the government’s track record of meeting peak demand of 15,497 megawatts in a single day.

As temperatures soar to 45 degrees C in summer, the demand for electricity naturally increases, leading to potential technical problems. However, Vikramarka assured that the electricity staff efficiently address these issues and provide prompt services to minimize inconvenience for the public.
