The poll campaign in Telangana is gearing up for a crucial phase next week, with top BJP leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP chief J P Nadda scheduled to address multiple public meetings. These leaders will be on a whirlwind tour of the state from May 5 to May 10, ahead of the polls on May 13.
The meetings are significant in light of the aggressive campaign against the BJP by the state Congress party, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The Congress has criticized the Centre for allegedly neglecting the state over the past decade and has raised concerns about the BJP’s intentions towards the Constitution if they secure 400 seats.
Sources indicate that Modi and other leaders will refute these claims, highlighting that the NDA currently has 360 seats and could potentially reach 400 with support from other parties in the 2024 elections. They are expected to point out that it was the Congress that made significant changes to the Constitution since Independence and question the credibility of their promises.
Modi is set to address four public meetings in various locations in Telangana in support of BJP candidates. Amit Shah and JP Nadda will also hold public meetings in different parts of the state to rally support for the party’s candidates. The BJP leaders are gearing up for an intense campaign to sway voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
