In Hyderabad, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responded to BRS leader T Harish Rao’s challenge to resign over the implementation of six guarantees and a farm loan waiver by August 15. He mentioned that Harish Rao’s resignation letter did not follow the prescribed format for submission to the Speaker. The CM criticized Harish Rao for not following the proper procedure and called his resignation letter lengthy and invalid.
Revanth Reddy also accused Harish Rao of using the Martyrs’ Memorial as a cover to deceive people and stage dramas. Despite this, the CM accepted Harish Rao’s challenge and promised to fulfill the Rs two lakh farmer loan waiver before August 15. He estimated that the waiver would cost the State government around Rs 30,000 to 40,000 crore.
During a program with the Congress social media team, the CM compared the rise of social media to changes in traditional news outlets like newspapers and news channels. He likened this shift to different formats of cricket matches, stating that social media allows for quick and efficient news dissemination, similar to the pace of T-20 cricket matches compared to longer formats.
