    Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections on May 13, Hyderabad district election authorities are working to ensure peaceful and fair elections. Election observers appointed for Hyderabad and Secunderabad constituencies have inspected the arrangements.

    The Election Commission of India appointed General, Expenditure, and Police Observers for the elections. General Observer Dr. Saroj Kumar and Expenditure Observer Amith Shukla were appointed for Secunderabad-8 constituency, while General Observer P I Sreeividya and Expenditure Observer Senthil Kumaran were appointed for Hyderabad-9. Police Observer Shashank Anand was appointed for both constituencies.

    Hyderabad District Election Officer Ronald Rose and Police Commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy briefed the Election Observers on measures taken for incident-free elections. Polling officers and staff completed randomisation in the presence of the observers.

    DEO Ronald Rose highlighted the use of advanced technology for surveillance. Observers inspected polling stations, counting centers, polling personnel training, and complaint grievance call centers.

    General and police observers were satisfied with the arrangements and recommended local deployment for better understanding of the area. Authorities have seized cash, liquor, and made arrests related to election malpractices.

    In the past 24 hours, authorities seized cash, precious metals, liquor, and made arrests. Complaints related to election items have been received, with FIRs registered and weapons deposited.
